In August 2023, Qatar’s foreign merchandise trade balance witnessed a surplus of QR21.4 billion, a 41.1% decrease from August 2022 but an 8.7% increase from July 2023. Total exports amounted to QR31.4 billion, down 32.9% YoY but up 8% from July 2023. Imports stood at QR10.1 billion, a 4.8% decrease YoY and a 6.6% increase from July 2023. This shift was mainly due to reduced exports of petroleum gases but increased exports of petroleum oils. China, South Korea, and India were the top export destinations.(tnk.net)
