The 12th Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World began in Doha with the theme ‘Toward Renewing Cultural Action in the Islamic World.’ Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Culture, hosted the event organized by ICESCO. The conference elected Qatar to preside over its office for 2024-2025. The Minister of Culture emphasized Qatar’s commitment to culture and its role in the FIFA World Cup 2022. Former UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova praised Islamic civilization’s contribution to cultural rapprochement. The conference reviewed cultural initiatives and adopted Qatar’s Lusail City as the Capital of Culture in the Islamic World 2030.
