At the “Sustainable Transportation and Legacy for Generations” Conference in Qatar, Minister of Transport Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti unveiled the Self-Driving Vehicles Strategy. This five-year plan aims to regulate self-driving vehicles for a smart, eco-friendly transit system. Nearly 70% of public buses are already electric, with a goal of achieving 100% electrification by 2030. The Ministry is also working on establishing safety standards for electric vehicles in collaboration with relevant authorities.
