QatarEnergy initiated the North Field Expansion Project, the largest LNG venture globally, with a groundbreaking ceremony attended by Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The project aims to boost Qatar’s LNG production by 63%, contributing an additional 48 million tonnes per annum to global production. Split into North Field East and North Field South, it will increase production capacities by 2025 and 2026, respectively.
