In FIFA’s latest monthly ranking, Qatar’s football team is ranked 61st globally and 6th in Asia, based on 159 international matches in September. The team slipped two places since July, with Saudi Arabia ranked 5th in Asia (57th globally), followed by Qatar in 6th (61st). In September, Qatar lost to Kenya and drew with Russia in friendly matches. The team is preparing for World Cup and Asian Cup qualifiers and will compete in the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
