In August 2023, the Zakat Fund Department of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs provided QR 17,003,582 to 564 eligible Qatari families.
According to Ahmed Sultan Al Meseifri, the Assistant Director of the Zakat Fund Department, the aid—both periodic and one-time—was distributed to eligible registered families in accordance with the legal Zakat disbursements and approved mechanisms.
He stated that the amounts were split between lump-sum aids, which are one-time aids as needed, and periodic aids, which are given to eligible families on a monthly basis and have a value of QR 10,295,240.
